The 2023 Annual Report of COLAF (Committee for the fight against fraud against the European Union) dedicates space to the web app “Transparent Administration for the Citizen“, created by the Department for Regional Affairs and Autonomies (DARA), within the framework of the project ITALYE, in collaboration with our Foundation.
COLAF highlights how the purposes pursued by the web app, which can be summarised in the increase in the levels of transparency and accountability of the PAs, constitute one of the fundamental logical premises – from a factual and communicative point of view – to combat corruption and, specifically, fraud against the EU budget.
This element is even more important if we consider that DARA is extraneous to the functions of providing European funds and that it does not have – among its expressed institutional missions – the objective of pursuing actions to strengthen the fight (prevention and repression) against fraud, but it recognises its importance on the basis of its central position in the institutional morphology, as also demonstrated by the project described above.
