We hear more and more talk of Social Impact Investing in Italy too: as a Foundation we are trying to make suggestions to the legislator of rules that favor the launch of real innovation projects with a social impact.
The persistence of the global economic and financial crisis has imposed a new awareness: the development models that have prevailed up to now have shown their limits.
This is demonstrated by the general impoverishment, the social inequalities, the consequent tensions of public order, the inability of the States to face the new needs, the high level of inefficiency and public corruption. It is therefore necessary to rethink an overall development model, which no longer considers the social, economic and political spheres separate but interdependent.
In other countries, especially in the Anglo-Saxon ones such as Great Britain, the USA, Canada and Australia, the concept of social innovation has been developed and imported into political and economic choices for several years, understood as the ability to respond to emerging needs with new forms of action and relationship.
